Bumper Castle Farm is centrally situated for all the attractions on
offer in the Peak District and Derbyshire Dales

Chatsworth House
The country’s most famous stately home, Chatsworth House (Palace of the Peak) is only 4 miles away and Haddon Hall, the most superb medieval manor house also 4 miles. Also Hardwick Hall , Kedleston Hall and Melbourne Hall are only a short drive away.

Although we are set in the heart of beautiful countryside, we are midway between Matlock, Bakewell and Chesterfield , so in ten minutes you can be browsing the many shops and markets.

Carsington Waters

Great attractions for the visitor include

Crich Tramway Museum (10 miles) - A great day out where you can go back in time and ride vintage tram cars from years gone by.

Matlock Bath and Heights of Abraham (5 miles) - Ride up to the summit on the cable cars and maybe visit one of the cavems, before climbing the Prospect tower for magnificent views of the surrounding area.

Carsington Water (10 miles ) - For the more energetic there's sailing, wind surfing and canoeing, but it's a beautiful place to just stroll around and enjoy the scenery.

Well Dressing
Casleton Caverns (18 miles) - Journey deep under the ground down the Treak Cliff or Blue John Cavems, or take a boat ride down the Speedwell Cavem. On the surface there's the ancient ruins of Peveril Castle.

Theme Parks. For those who like white knuckle rides and adventure, there's Alton Towers (20 miles) and The American Adventure (20 miles). Gullivers Kingdom at Matlock Bath is brilliant for younger children.

Well Dressing - Many Derbyshire villages carry on this ancient custom of decorating their wells in thanksgiving for the water supply.

Outdoor pursuits are abundant in the area

Off road cycling (and cycle hire) is available on the High Peak, Tissington and Monsal trails, also at Carsington Water.

Walking in the area is second to none, with hundreds of miles of footpaths through breathtaking scenery

There is also fishing (coarse & trout), pony trekking and mountain boarding, all only a 10 minutes drive away.

After a "hard days entertainment" there are dozens of pubs and hotels and restaurants in a short radius with menus ranging from simple "pub grub" to fine dining. Lots of local pubs have live acts at weekends.

Derbyshire and the Peak District have so much to offer for all ages
and we guarantee you will want to return for more!
